Essential Breath & Stress
For school workers, teachers, PSAs, and employees.
Since the beginning of 2020, stress and anxiety are through the roof in our society. In general, we are losing the ability to rest, sleep and sometimes even function. To live a full and healthy life, we need to drop out of chronic stress, stop feeling so “on edge” and at the end of our rope.
I have designed a 90-minute workshop to teach you how to manage the physical and mental symptoms of chronic stress simply but effectively. These techniques can be easily replicated at home. I will teach you how to manage stress in the workplace. These techniques are also safe and enjoyable for the children in the classroom. We will look at exactly what stress is, how stress becomes chronic and why we experience stress in the first place. Our session will cover specialised breathing practices, simple psychology techniques and how to physically switch off stress.

Who am I?
My name is Fionnuala Knox but you can call me Fi. I have a HND in biology and psychology and I specialised in stress management. I was a massage therapist for 10 years and I have been a yoga therapist since 2017 specialising in back pain and stress. I have worked in Milton of Leys Primary School for the term 2018-19 working with the children in two classes on stress and anxiety management, I loved every second of it and the children got a lot of benefit from it. I have also run many sold out workshops on stress management for adults in Inverness and Elgin. I also work 1-1 with several clients for stress management.
But is stress really that bad?
Short term, no. In fact, there are a lot of benefits to stress in the short-term. The problem is when stress becomes chronic. Chronic stress is one of the biggest health issues facing us in modern society Our often stress filled lives can make us feel like we are constantly “on edge”, slow down our ability to fight off illness and leave us exhausted. Staying in a heightened state of stress is detrimental to our health and causes major disruption to every system in our body. But we don’t have to live like this!
